Repair or replace? When an old furnace is done
A furnace repair is sometimes worth it and sometimes throwing good money after bad. Here is how we think about it.

Age matters
Most furnaces last 15 to 20 years. If yours is in that range and needs a big repair, a new one often makes more sense. A modern furnace also runs more efficiently.
Rising bills and repeat repairs
If your heat bills keep climbing or you call for repairs every winter, the math starts to favor replacement. A new high-efficiency furnace can pay for itself over time.
We give honest advice
We will tell you when a repair is the right call and when it is not. We never push a new furnace you do not need. That is how we have done business for over 40 years.
Quick tips from our crew
- Add up the last two years of repairs before you spend more.
- Ask what a new high-efficiency unit would cost to run.
- Get a written quote so you can compare apples to apples.
