Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

We are a family owned heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical company in northwest lower Michigan. We keep this simple. We only ask for the information we need to help you, and we do not sell it. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

This website is run by Jim Leach Mechanical Inc, 5860 West 10 1/2 Mile Road, Irons, Michigan 49644. You can reach us at (231) 266-5780 or jimleachmechanical@gmail.com.

What we collect

You can browse the whole site without giving us any personal information. We only receive details when you choose to send them:

  • When you use our contact or service request form: your name, phone number, email address, the city you are in, the service you need, and anything you write in the message box.
  • When you call, text or email us: whatever you choose to share so we can help you.

We do not run advertising trackers on this site, and we do not sell your information. We do use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It only runs after you agree in the cookie banner, and it does not identify you by name. More on that below.

How we use it

We use the information you send for one reason: to answer you and do the work you asked about. That means replying to your request, giving you a quote, scheduling a visit, and following up. We may keep a record of the job so we can serve you better next time.

We will never sell or rent your information. We do not share it with anyone except the service providers below who help us run the website and reply to you.

Service providers we rely on

A few trusted companies help us operate. They only handle your information to provide their service to us:

  • FormSubmit delivers your contact form to our email inbox. Your form details pass through their system on the way to us. See the FormSubmit site for details.
  • Google (Gmail) hosts the email inbox where your message arrives.
  • Google Analytics gives us anonymous counts of how many people visit and which pages they read, so we can improve the site. It runs only if you accept cookies. You can read how Google handles this data in the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Our website host stores and serves the pages of this site.

When you click a link to our Facebook page or open our address in Google Maps, you leave our site and the privacy policy of that company applies.

Cookies and your choices

A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. We use them in two simple ways:

  • Necessary: we remember the choice you made in our cookie banner so it does not pop up on every page. This stays on your device.
  • Analytics (only if you agree): if you click Accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (named like _ga and _ga_J3N1HXD7JM) to count visits and see which pages are popular. We turn on IP anonymization, and this is never used to advertise to you.

When you first visit, analytics cookies are off. Nothing tracks you until you choose Accept. If you click Only necessary, no analytics cookies are set and the site works exactly the same.

You can change your mind any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which brings the banner back. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to turn off Google Analytics everywhere.

Your choices and rights

It is your information, and you are in control:

  • Ask us what we have on file for you.
  • Ask us to correct it if something is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete it. We will, unless we need to keep a record for a job we did or for legal reasons.
  • Tell us to stop contacting you.

Just call or email us and we will take care of it. Depending on where you live, your state may give you these rights by law. We honor them for everyone, wherever you are.

Children

This site is meant for homeowners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us. No website can promise perfect security, but we treat your details with care and only keep them as long as we need them.

Accessibility

We want this site to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers or keyboard navigation. If any part of the site is hard for you to use, please call us at (231) 266-5780 and we will help you directly and work to fix it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is a big one, we will make it easy to notice.
